Anwendung

Our frog acute is used for acute frog problems. Apply it to the frog groove once or twice a week, or daily if necessary. Make sure that your horse is standing on dry ground when doing this.
For particularly deep grooves, soak a cotton ball with Strahl Akut and insert it into the depression. The cotton ball should be changed daily to ensure optimal effectiveness.

There is no waiting period and the product is ADMR compliant.

Detecting Thrush

Do you notice a foul smell when cleaning your hooves, a visual change or increased sensitivity to pressure in your hooves? Then you are most likely dealing with thrush. This is a bacterial infection of the frog in horses.

Various factors contribute to this nasty hoof disease. A damp, muddy environment in the stable or on the pasture, uneven or faulty hoof mechanics, unsuitable horseshoes or fittings, previous injuries or diseases of the hoof, poor circulation to the hooves due to lack of exercise, genetic predisposition, an unbalanced diet, but also poorly maintained stables in which ammonia from urine and feces accumulates, and lack of or inadequate hoof care can be possible causes of thrush.

The basic rule is: To keep your horse's hooves healthy and robust, you should care for them regularly, ideally daily. If your horse is still struggling with painful thrush, Strahl Akut can help it get back on its hooves quickly.
